Day 10: Make Time

Tonight’s post will be a short one, as I have spent the last 4 hours with my beautiful daughter, having some quality mommy-daughter time. I took her to do one of her favorite things–watch a play! We went to see The Wizard of Oz put on by our local Christian Youth Theater. She and I had an amazing time together! The show was outstanding, and the company was even better! We had first-row seats, thanks to a great friend, and we were first in line to meet and take pictures with the cast. We shared lots of laughs and hugs and kisses, and I received a million “Thank you, Mommy”s on the way home. Sure, our schedule is jam-packed, my to-do list is a mile long, she (we) are up way past bedtime, and we have an early morning and full day ahead of us tomorrow. But tonight, I didn’t think about any of those things. None of it mattered. All that mattered was my girl tonight! I’m sure we will be tired tomorrow and maybe even a little grumpy, but I’ll just think back to tonight and remember that beautiful smile, the sweet sounds of that giggle, and the twinkle of delight in those crystal blue eyes, and I’ll remind myself that it was all worth it! All too often, we have to remind ourselves how important it is to take a step back and do the things that we truly need to do! We must simply make the time!
