Day 12: Relationships

It seems like I’ve been hearing (well, reading) a lot lately about people who are in terrible relationships, couples whose marriages are suffering, infidelity, and the list goes on. I’m not really sure what the problems are, as you usually only see one side to the story, and no one knows what really goes on behind closed doors. The biggest problem I see with this is that I am seeing it at all. I’m not sure where along the way our society lost its respect for privacy, but there are some things that just don’t need to be put out there for God and everyone to know about! I have witnessed (on far too many occasions) one party of a relationship going on and on and on about how absolutely terrible their partner is and blah blah blah. Then, just days later, those two individuals are back together like nothing ever happened. How do you think your friends and family now view that other person? You have tainted their opinions about him or her, and you can never take that back! Keep your relationship problems where they belong–in the relationship! It’s one thing to confide in a few friends, but it doesn’t need to be plastered for the world to see! I’m no therapist, and I am not judging, by any means. I just know that the relationships that I have seen last are the ones that haven’t aired their dirty laundry! We all have our struggles, but it’s how we handle them that determines whether or not we will come out stronger in the end!

We’ve talked about this before and you know I agree with you 100%. You couldn’t be more right. It’s heartbreaking watching people have meltdowns and hate their spouse one day and love them the next day. Thats just so exhausting!! I love how you worded every bit of this 🙂
